Fall

Haven't posted in awhile. Don't know why, just lazy I guess. Can't believe fall is all ready here. Our trees in the woods are beginning to turn gold & red, with the green pines peeking through. The creek is back to its' normal depth. Hurricane Frances dumped 7 inches on us. Creek was the highest we've seen in quite a few years. Last night Jack Frost rambled through but just had a very light touch, no damage to the flowers, etc. Will have to bring some in on Tuesday as is supposed to be a heavy one.

We picked up our winter's supply of apples last Sunday. The county next door has many orchards, plus several new wineries. Sister-in-law has visited at least one of them. Hubby & I rarely drink. We still have some wine from our 40th Wedding Anniversary & it was our 48th this summer. The rate we're going, we'll have to live to be 100 so as to drink up the "surplus".

Speaking of age, hubby's uncle will soon be celebrating his 92nd. We're hoping he is still alive as he's in hospital for the last couple of weeks & not too well. We're taking it day by day, but he might be like his oldest sister who is 105. This spring the doctors said she was dying, but 2 weeks later, she was up & about in her wheelchair & is still hanging in there. The 2 of them are the last of 7 sibs. with her the eldest. The 2nd eldest died at 102 a couple of years ago, another was 95. Think am going to have to take a stick to hubby to get his life insurance. ;D
