Calendar Art....

There is a bit of a tempest in a teapot on the Editorial page of our local rag...well, actually it's one "old biddy" in a letter to the Editor shaking an outraged finger at the brazen hussies who are daring to pose "naked"..I say "naked"..for a Ban Righ Centre's calendar, said calendar's proceeds going to help young women university students in our nearby city. I don't know her age, but if she isn't "old", she sure seems to fit the description of "old biddy". Here is her letter:

"When I first saw it announced in The Whig-Standard that a calendar had been produced by Queen's University's Ban Righ Centre that featured prominent women posing naked, I was shocked. I was very disappointed that these supposedly mature women had been coerced into doing such a thing. I'm sure than many people felt as I did when they saw the announcement.
As a former Queen's woman and current Christian woman, I am disgusted and disappointed that Queen's and the Whig-Standard have sunk so low as to promote something like this calendar. A little child could tell them that it's wrong. Where is their sense of decency? Better yet, where is their holy fear of the Lord?
Wake up, Kingston.
The calendar is called "Daring to Dream". There are some things we shouldn't dare to do and some that we should. I dare to dream that this city can be saved. Nothing is impossible for God. This is the time to raise the standard in the land, especially since we're so close to the time when our Messiah will return.
I believe in respecting the dignity of the person, whether male or female, and not leading other people into tempation. We women are more than a piece of meat or cheesecake. There is a time and place for nakedness, but the body should be modestly covered in public.
Our bodies are a wonder of God's creation, and our sexuality a gift, but He intended us to be a temple of the Holy Spirit, and so we sould not be exploiting one another. The women who posed for this calendar, and those who promote the calendar, should be ashamed of themselves, especially if the photos incite any people to lust.
Jesus reminded us "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery' But aI say to you that everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
I don't condemn those who are promoting this calendar. Instead I call upon them to stop promoting it and "make straight your paths." As Jesus also said to the woman caught in the act of adultery, "Go and sin no more"..................

Wow! Now about this calendar....as she said they are prominent women, even a former MP, all of a certain age & it's well over 21, honey! The former MP has a large world atlas, held so that only her bare shoulders show, while standing on her apartment balcony. Two other women are behind a huge bale of hay in a farmer's field; another is sitting on a dock holding a length of fabric that falls gracefully & hides her quite well; one is seated astride a big Harley which shows only part of one leg, her arm, shoulders & face. Everything that should be covered is, & done in good taste. The one thing that is seen in every picture is the glint of fun in all their eyes. You go, girls! :D If they'd asked me to participate, I would have said Yes in a second. Would have been a blast. By the way, the photographer was also a woman.
Keep Daring to Dream.......
